What can I expect in the initial consultation?

The initial consultation is an opportunity to ask your therapist any questions you have about their expertise, how they can help you, and to support making therapy the “right fit.” You will have the chance to ask your therapist questions about how they work, what style they use for therapy, and ensure that their availability fits with your needs. Your therapist may ask you questions like: “What are your experiences with therapy?” “Are you comfortable with being challenged or receiving supportive feedback?” “How will we know if therapy is successful?” Take this consultation as an opportunity to ask your therapist the questions that will help you know whether you can connect with them.
